Beth Ditto on Style.com

I know there are a ton of people who don't like Beth Ditto's style, but she is literally my fashion hero. Of course pictures of her outfits are wonderful, but whenever I see her do interviews, I am always left inspired. Watch this clip of her from style.com to see what I mean:

  2. I love her so much, she really is my hero! I'd still hate my body if it wasn't for her, so whether people like her style or not she deserves props for getting the idea of fat acceptance out there and never apologising for who she is. I love how intelligently she always puts her points across as well.

  3. OMG, I loved when she talked about breaking all the rules and the fact that she got fashion inspiration from The Smiths. Love.

  4. It's weird, on one hand I'm so stoked to see them doing so well, and seeing Beth become an icon for plus sized girls everywhere - on the other I can't help feeling a bit miffed at how they've embraced the celeb "scene" and become really aloof and starry, the complete opposite of every other Riot Grrrl act. But I'm just being a spoilsport!

  5. I love her. I am surprised by how much hate there is for her. She's a confident, sexy, interesting woman who is proud her talents and her beauty. What is not to love? She also reminds me a little of Jay McCarroll, the winner of Project Runway Season 1. I can't explain why exactly, but it's definitely a compliment.

  6. The girl is amazingly comfortable with who she is and I find that incredible. Not a lot of girls (in ANY size) is able to have that type of confidence, let alone as someone who is deemed "unattractive" by the mass media.

...and i have to thank her for commenting on the fashion designers on being not shallow. We get this type of comment all the time and it quite irks us at how people can easily stereotype us by our profession.

  9. I love Beth's band, but I have never actually heard her talk. Who knew she had a little southern twang...
