In the mean time, I want to kick things off by introducing you to Mia, the fabulous blogger of Lifestyles of the Broke & Famous. Fret Not

Hey, kids!
Looks like December is going to be a pretty slow month.
Don't hate me. Don't leave me.
All will be back to normal soon.

Happy Holidays!

Child's Play

This isn't exactly related to fat fashion, but I had to share! If you've been reading YFF for a while, you know that last Spring I was the assistant to the stylist for a few Marie Claire Australia photo shoots in NYC. I am happy to say that I've just seen the results of all of my hard work, and I am extremely pleased. It's amazing to see that all of my sweat (who do you think unpacks, steams, and organizes those beautiful clothes?) paid off! This photo shoot was called "Child's Play," and the entire experience was so much fun. At the end of our fourteen hour day, I was still smiling. I am more than proud of my first mainstream magazine photo shoot, and I can only imagine the day when I'm the head stylist. A big thank you to Kate for allowing me to help her make styling decisions! My favorite look has to be the Louis Vuitton dress in image six! Would you wear any of these looks?

P.S.-Speaking of magazines, I was recently featured in Germany's Missy Magazine! Check it out!

Amelia

Meet Amelia, the spunky redhead whose superfly fashion sense is matched only by her attitude. She's been an inspiration of mine for years, and it's been amazing to see the evolution of her personal style. You'll often catch her with red lips and in vintage dresses, but don't be surprised if she shows up in something unexpected! From cowboy boots to sailor hats, Amelia's signature pieces always set her apart from the crowd.

Name: Miss Amelia Hart
Age: 20
Location:Portland, Oregon
Size: 14/16
Favorite Places to Shop: Thrift stores, yard sales, my designer friends, anywhere! I've gotten great clothes in weird places, like free piles and antique stores.
Fashion Icons: I love really concentrated femininity. Divine, Brigette Bardot. I get inspiration for outfits from everywhere- music, blogs, my friends and family, absolutely everywhere. I tend towards vintage or classic looks with a little bit of something absurd and unexpected.
Current Obsession: 60's girl groups and black eyeshadow
Advice to other YFF Girls: Don't stop fighting the good fight! Sometimes it might feel like you are preaching to the choir, but you've got to remember that everyday you don't let yourself be down over your size, it is a revolutionary act. Don't be afraid to try on anything and everything, no matter if the store is plus sized or not, or what the size on the tag says, or if it is "not a style for fat girls". Switch it up. Don't ever feel like you have to be locked into a style. Learn fashion history. Stand up straight. Lastly, find a shade of red lipstick that works for you and work it. Does wonders for your self confidence, every time. There are a billion shades, and you can find one that makes you feel hotter instantly.
