Plain Jane?

I was hesitant to post this outfit, because admittedly there is no "wow factor." It's pretty plain, but a lot of people have asked me to post more often wearing pants. Today I wore my grey acid wash jeggings sent by Evans, which are super comfy but a bit too big. I suggest sizing down if you order these! (Actually, I like my jeggings to look painted on, so it may just be me). I paired them with a black v-neck tee and blazer, and wore my oversized watch and gold chain for a bit of interest.

PS- I opened my online store! I still have a ton of stuff to add this weekend, so be on the lookout. Please remember that there are no returns, so ask any questions you may have in advance. I reply fastest on Twitter.

PPS- Congrats to Ashe Mischief for winning the Pour La Victoire Giveaway! You will be contacted via email very soon.

Pour la Victoire Giveaway

YFF has teamed up with Pour La Victoire for an amazing giveaway! PLV has gorgeous shoes, and they were kind enough to send me these great Tarissa wedges! I paired them with my white lace ASOS Curve dress. I think I look straight out of the 70s, which can only be a good thing.

If you want to win a pair of your own Tarissa wedges (retail at over $280!), all you have to do is become a fan of Pour La Victoire and Young, Fat and Fabulous on Facebook. Then leave a comment here with your name (as it's written on FB) and your email address. This contest is only open to U.S. residents (sorry!) and ends on Sunday, April 25th at midnight EST. A winner will be chosen using random.org.

YFF Blogger Conference

Photobucket
I think the teaser last week pretty much gave it away, but here is the official announcement: YFF is hosting the first ever plus size fashion blogger conference this summer! I've invited ten of the best fatshion bloggers from around to world to meet up in New York City July 9-11 for a weekend of fun. The best part? We get to meet you guys! There will be a meet and greet cocktail mixer to kick off the event on Friday, July 9th at Re/Dress NYC. We've just launched the official site yffconference.com, so head on over to find out more about what's happening, who's attending (click on their pictures for info), and how to RSVP. The conference blog will be updated constantly during the event, so you won't miss a thing. We'll also be having a live video chat for those of you who can't make it.

For clarification purposes: The blogger conference is dedicated to the invited bloggers only. The Meet & Greet is one part of the conference and is open to everyone of all ages--this is the event that we are asking you to RSVP to. We hope to see you there!

Geometry

Finally, a warm day in Chicago! I celebrated by wearing my new geometric sent to me by Torrid. When I saw it on the website, I thought the bottom was structured--it's actually stretchy! The little folds are sewn into the garment, so it has this cool 3-D effect. I'm still getting used to my new hair...what do you guys think?

Ulrika

Photobucket
It's impossible not to fall in love with Ulrika upon first glance. Her blog, The Red Rosette, is filled with some of the most lovely outfit photos I've ever seen; (I don't think I've come across one thing so far that I'm not lusting after). With ensembles that are somehow whimsical, classic and current all at once, Ulrika's personal style is totally enviable.

Name: Ulrika
Age: 24
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Size: 12-14
Favorite Places to Shop: Topshop, H&M, New Look, Vintage shops.
My Fashion Icons: Zooey Deschanel & Alexa Chung. Love the way they mix vintage with highstreet brands. I also like Jennifer Hudson's way of dressing, she always looks classy.
Current Obsession: Vintage tapestry bags, brogues and mint nail polish.
Advice to other YFF Girls: Love yourself and others will follow and believe in your own sense of style. Skinny does not equal happy, so just dress the way you want whatever your size and make it work!

Simplicity

The awesome people at Solestruck.com sent me the Sam Edelman Zoe platform booties, and they are just as amazing as I'd anticipated. I've been wanting these shoes ever since Mary-Kate Olsen (and every fashion blogger in the world) made the Balenciaga ones popular in 2006 and 2007! Surprisingly, they're easier to walk in than most heels I own. It was almost 80 degrees out today, so I decided to wear them with a simple black t-shirt dress from Jen's Fashion Plus and my acid wash denim jacket. The net tights from Dorothy Perkins are great because they add a bit of interest without making me too hot in the warmer months. (If you like these, Torrid is carrying a similar pair right now!)
