PS-Fat girls: if you're wondering how to wear skirts without suffering from chubrub (thigh chafing), I recently bought Secret Shield after seeing positive reviews from other bloggers. It's a veggie based anti-chafing balm from the company SkinDura, and it's been working well for me so far! Edit: Wow! Apparently since I posted this, they sold out! I know a lot of people also love Monistat's Chafing Relief Gel and say it works really well. I haven't tried it yet, but you should be able to find it at your local drug store.
PPS-The photo shoot I styled for Fashion to Figure is up! Happy shopping :)

Hey Gabi - Can you explain how you cut the shirt? I know you said at the seams but its hard to see what seams. Do you mean the side seams or the arm seam? I love your outfit and you look amazing in cranberry!! Your photo shoot is outstanding. You styled it up big!! Doing big things I see!! I'm scared of you!! YOU GO GIRL!! Kiah

ReplyDeleteAiiiii!!! I'm Georgina, from Spain and I have to say that since I discovered your blog like a week ago... you're my favourite blogger EVER! I love your style and I think you are absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm fat, too and here in Spain is SO difficult to find clothes in my size.. I must buy them online because here you can only find grandma's xl shops! :( In other words I'm soooo jelous of you! I can't wait to go to the states and buy looooads of clothes!
ReplyDeletegeorgina :D
I've just discovered your blog and I think you are an absolute inspiration! Beautiful, Voluptuous, Vivacious! Girls should learn to love themselves as they are and not feel as though they must conform to pathetic media driven ideals!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work!

I love the top and body suit combo! What size did you order the body suit in from American Apparel? Their sizes for body suits are only for straight sizes, but if you've found some wiggle room I'd give it a try myself! You look edgy-sexy-cool
ReplyDeleteSo great to see you got the jacket okay and that you look great in it.
ReplyDeletex.
Ahh! You are so beautiful. I love the outfit you are wearing! That blouse color is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know about the balm! Some days I have major chubrub & other days I don't. I will have to invest in some! :)

Thanks for the tip about Secret Shield! I've been needing something like this bad! :)
ReplyDeleteThe teal and that wine color.... DIE. so pretty. Also, random but, what lipstick is that? I've been looking for a summery, neon pink!
ReplyDeletelove deep wine colours!!!
ReplyDeleteI love skirts and dresses in summertime and I live by the Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel! But I'm going to try that Secret Shield!
ReplyDeleteOne word... STUNNING!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGabby, you look fab! I love what you did to the top, the entire look with the jacket is so edgy, I love it. Love the shoot as well, and I'm going to have to check out the gel!
ReplyDeletei love the entire outfit.
ReplyDeleteI love the colours - its winter down here (in NZ) and this would still work well with thick tights and boots! I use a cream called 3B (http://www.neatfeat.com/p-234-3b-action-cream.aspx) which is awesome for chaffing!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog - it inspires me and gives me hope that eventually the shops here will start catering for larger size younger women. Its hard for us to buy online because we get stung with horrendous delivery charges, so until I get to NY again, I will just have to shop vicariously through you!

ReplyDeletei love the accessories.
I love the outfit and your blog. As someone who has had an ED for about three years (although I'm mostly recovered now) it really helps to see you wearing clothes that I have convinced myself I am too fat to ever wear.
ReplyDeleteWhen I look at your pictures I don't see fat I just see a beautiful woman who knows who to dress and looks great in everything she puts on and I find myself thinking 'I should really try that look too'.
Thank you for giving me the confidence to love myself and my body.
I have the same jacket, as some many of us Fats do. That and my domino dress and leggings get more compliments and questions than anything else I own. I adore that skirt on you, really shows off your curves. I keep telling myself that my post baby, post surgery belly is too saggy and big to make one like it, but but but... want! You help give me the courage to wear what I want :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit. You look fab, and I love what you did with the crop top. Those are my fave item for the summer
ReplyDeleteyou're such an inspiration... so happy to bump into your blog...
ReplyDeletelove the top..even i have a go to skirt!
ReplyDeleteAlthough she's fat but the Black skirtslooks so right and fit with her Sheer Top.
ReplyDeleteOh Gabi, you look just fabulous!!!

i've tried EVERYTHING for chub rub, and while i'm sure the one you got on etsy is adequate, i really suggest this stuff:

In regard to the chubrub - try a product call BodyGlide. You can get it at running stores and sports retailers that sell products for runners or, believe it or not, you can get it at sex shops!! Seriously, most online sex toy retailers carry BodyGlide! Works like a charm! (My man uses it for thigh and nipple chafing when running marathons)
