I was so excited when Wilhelmina Models recently contacted me to collaborate on an exclusive project for my blog. We decided that I would style four of the models from their Curve division: Sylvie Lekarski, Amanda Dougherty, Joanne Borgella, and Misha Bernier (please note that there is no "C" in her name--it's misspelled in the publication)! I enlisted the help of friend and photographer Elton Anderson, and from there I came up with a concept. I know in the past I've created wishlists and lookbooks using Photoshop, but I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring my favorite summer items to life. I styled each model in two looks: one using bright colors, and one using neutrals. Hopefully you all can find something that works for you! Click the image below to see the shoot in full screen:
My personal favorite pieces from the shoot include the black cage skirt and sheer crop top by Gisela Ramirez--seriously, check her out if you haven't--and the amazing metallic and turquoise platform heels and portfolio clutch by ASOS. The items featured are still available, so if you want to re-create any of these looks, get to shopping!
A huge thank you to everyone involved! Especially hair stylist, Spikey Love, makeup artist, Rodney Jon, and my assistant Tanysha Rodriguez for your non-stop help on set!
My outfit: Bodysuit and Skirt-F21/Shoes-Payless/Bracelet-Alexis Bittar/Blazer and Necklace-Thrifted
You have something uniquely special in the way you view fashion. When I see the models I'm looking at the clothes first and not their size and they look ah-freaking-mazing!!! I'm ready to shop now. Love it. Love the blog. Love the name change. I think everyone should know your name.
you are amazing! all of these looks are fantastic! i know i dont *know* you, but i am so proud of you. you are doing you and so successful at what you love. so much love!
I am in love with your blog. So, so inspiring. Definitely gives me more confidence when it comes to my own personal style. I would usually settle for finding clothes that fit my body, rather than my personality, but you prove that it is possible to have style regardless of size. Yay you!
love it, I'm so happy to see you doing these kind of fashion focus and the pieces you picked look great on each model featured. It definitely gives me some ideas of my own summer look.
This is awesome! I saw the blue Asos dress on their site and I was like "meh" but after seeing styled the Gabifresh way, I love it! You have something magical in your style girl!
Hey, did you get the shoes you're wearing in the group pic recently? You mentioned they were from Payless. . . I was looking on the website and I couldn't find them. . .
BRAVO GABI!! Girl you did an amazing job!! I love each and every outfit! I just ordered those olive wide leg pants from ASOS 2 days ago...I can't wait to get them!! I have been eyeing that ASOS color block big pocket dress for some time now. I am waiting for that puppy to go on sale!! lol You are so inspiring. You really should start your own plus size magazine because everything out there right now...."HATED IT"!! lol Kiah
I completely agree with ThePromoChick. When you see these photos first, I'm obsessing over the clothes, and second, I'm obsessing over how to get them and third) where to get them from. Well done girlie! You're an inspiration to all fashionistas alike (despite size). I'm really looking forward to what you have in store.
Wow amazing summer inspiration! My favorite look is the Gisela blue crop top + Asos magenta skirt! I saw the Gisela crop top earlier but didn't think I needed it until now!
So good. I've actually been back to stalk the pics like 3 times today.
Ditto @Jay. That look is my fav too. I have Gisela's sack dress, but may have to add to the collection with the blue crop top. Then again, the pink one on Joanna is super pretty too...
You have no idea how inspiring you are to me! You have made me look at myself completely differently and I now truly embrace my curves. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your commitment to curvy women.
