Nicolette Mason's Closet

I've been begging friend and fellow fashion blogger (and stylist/designer) Nicolette Mason to let me feature her closet on GABIFRESH for a very long time! Whenever I visit her apartment in Williamsburg, I spend 90% of the time trying on her clothes and attempting to convince her to let me have everything. Nicolette has exquisite taste and is one of the few plus size girls I know that owns everything from Forever21 and ASOS to Chanel and Alexander McQueen. This is definitely a closet you don't want to miss (make sure you check out her blog too!):

Edit: I've been getting a lot of comments and tweets asking about the sizing of Nicolette's designer pieces. As she mentions in the video, she tries everything on. Most of the pieces are sized L/XL/12 and she makes it work for her.

  4. This is a genuine question... Do designers sell larger sizes in The US? I know that what Nicolette picked is mostly oversized, but whenever I go to London and check the designers section the largest is a UK12, and even in oversize I wouldn't dream of fitting an arm in any of those clothes.

  5. @blog to be alive,

most designers stop at a size US 12/14 :)

  7. One of the best closets I have ever seen. What I really love is that even with so many different types of clothes, it all seems very consistent. Also, I love the way Nicolette puts together her outfits. So good.

  8. I'm honestly in shock that the leather jacket is from Topshop. Having only shopped online and never been to the actual store, I just assumed barely anything would fit me properly!
And who knew it was possible to wear designer stuff at a larger size?! I had already settled to F21 and Target for the rest of my life.
This is a great video. I <3 Nicollette, she gives me hope.

  13. You have said many a time about taking a smaller sized piece of clothing and "making it work" be it cutting seams or what have you. would you be able to elaborate on this at all? I don't know how many times I've passed something up because it didn't fir just right and I was afraid to butcher it. Thanks!

  22. That video is amazing!! That is also how I view shopping. I have consistently gained weight over the past couple of years and am loathe to give up shopping at "straight size" stores (especially HnM). So I make it work. Jersey, clothes that are loose and cut big.
    Thanks Gabi!
