Fashion's Night Out!

I had a blast yesterday in Soho for Fashion's Night Out! The city's energy is always super intense during Fashion Week, and last night was no different. I decided to wear my awesome sheer beaded cape top from Dorothy Perkins with my gold sequin mini from Forever21. I definitely got a lot of stares in this, both good and bad. I consider that the sign of a great outfit.

Can I just take a moment and thank the fashion gods that top knots are in? Because seriously, my hair + humidity just doesn't work. I had it professionally done and it lasted about 4 minutes after I stepped outside.

And oh yeah, um, I met my hero, Beth Ditto. She performed at MAC's event, and was just as amazing as expected. She signed my magazine, "Fat Forever, Love, Beth." I died.

  1. Love this look, I do not know which piece I like more the skirt or the cape. I never like anything I see on forever 21 but you always luck up and work it.

  11. I was wondering what you decided on! You look fab. Your monochromatic look reminds me of some of the pictures I saw in Nicolette's entry in Marie Claire (http://www.marieclaire.com/fashion/fashionista-blog/big-girl-skinny-world-fashion-week-day-one) about Sachin + Babi's Spring 2012 collection. You're way ahead of us! I SO wish I was there to participate in all the fashion fun this week! Sigh... Enjoy it! http://curvycanadian.blogspot.com

  24. About your comment on stares:

I have ALWAYS wondered about how other people perceive fashion bloggers (of any size really, but especially Plus Size). I mean, of course we blog readers love you and die for your fashion...but I know how I'm perceived myself (just a regular person without a support system for fashionably plus sized glam b*tches LOL) when I put together a stunner and get rude looks and comments and I always chock it up to "Well, people around here are just not on my level so...of course they kick it back that it's negative to be big and stylish". It's like, how dare I wear tall heels and makeup and be fat too? WHO AM I TRYING TO IMPRESS?! Sigh.

I don't want to focus on the negative part of your post because as per usual, you looked beautiful, but it kind of makes me feel a little better to know that it's people' dumb ideas of what is beautiful and fashionable as a whole, and I don't need to try and hold myself back in what I choose to wear.

Just wish I had another you to be able to talk to about it with :)

  25. They are HATERS PERIOD! And when they surface you know you are doing something right, although love is equally important. Thus I LOVE that outfit keep it up!

  29. Jordan lorsque michael jordan intégra le monde de la nba en 1984, ce ne fut pas seulement le début d'une carrière sans égal, mais aussi

le début de la série célèbre "Air Jordan" de nike. le fabricant d'articles de sport accorda toute

    , Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan 6,

Air Jordan 7, Air Jordan Spizike.
