Just a few shots of a casual outfit I wore last week to grab a quick dinner with Nicolette! For some reason whenever I wear stripes, I always reach for my gold chain; something about the combination is so classic to me. (Sorry about the wrinkles, this was after a long day!)
I've been begging friend and fellow fashion blogger (and stylist/designer) Nicolette Mason to let me feature her closet on GABIFRESH for a very long time! Whenever I visit her apartment in Williamsburg, I spend 90% of the time trying on her clothes and attempting to convince her to let me have everything. Nicolette has exquisite taste and is one of the few plus size girls I know that owns everything from Forever21 and ASOS to Chanel and Alexander McQueen. This is definitely a closet you don't want to miss (make sure you check out her blog too!):
Edit: I've been getting a lot of comments and tweets asking about the sizing of Nicolette's designer pieces. As she mentions in the video, she tries everything on. Most of the pieces are sized L/XL/12 and she makes it work for her.
I'm no beauty blogger, but lately I've been getting more and more into makeup and skincare. Though my skin is not the greatest, I actually get a lot of readers asking me about my makeup routine, so I thought it was about time for another beauty post. I'm a pretty simple girl when it comes to my makeup, which means I tend to do the same (or a very similar) look each day. I have been trying more and more products lately though, and here's what I can't get enough of this Summer:
I love all of the items, but my favorite thing to do is mix the two lipsticks together to create an orangey pink that always gets me compliments! Oh, and the brow kit! I don't go anywhere without it. Once you see your eyebrows before and after a good fill in, you'll never want to go bare again.
I was so excited when Wilhelmina Models recently contacted me to collaborate on an exclusive project for my blog. We decided that I would style four of the models from their Curve division: Sylvie Lekarski, Amanda Dougherty, Joanne Borgella, and Misha Bernier (please note that there is no "C" in her name--it's misspelled in the publication)! I enlisted the help of friend and photographer Elton Anderson, and from there I came up with a concept. I know in the past I've created wishlists and lookbooks using Photoshop, but I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring my favorite summer items to life. I styled each model in two looks: one using bright colors, and one using neutrals. Hopefully you all can find something that works for you! Click the image below to see the shoot in full screen:
My personal favorite pieces from the shoot include the black cage skirt and sheer crop top by Gisela Ramirez--seriously, check her out if you haven't--and the amazing metallic and turquoise platform heels and portfolio clutch by ASOS. The items featured are still available, so if you want to re-create any of these looks, get to shopping!
A huge thank you to everyone involved! Especially hair stylist, Spikey Love, makeup artist, Rodney Jon, and my assistant Tanysha Rodriguez for your non-stop help on set!
