The great debate among fashionistas this spring seems to be surrounding the sneaker wedge. I have never been a sneaker girl--well, not since my collection of kangaROOS in high school--and to be honest, I didn't even love the original Isabel Marants. But then I saw the beauties that graced the Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2012 runway, and everything I'd previously believed completely disappeared. The red ones were my fave, but I decided the navy would be more wardrobe friendly. I took a cue from the Marc runway looks and paired the sneaker wedges with stripes, opting for a [size 12] dress from the Maternity line at ASOS (available here) and some killer shades (available here).

How amazing is this Mr. Kate bracelet?! If you haven't seen her latest lookbook, you have to check it out. I want everything!

Love the dress and clutch!
ReplyDelete<3 it!! The dress looks so cute on you and the sneakers are an unexpected touch.
ReplyDeleteFierce! I've been on the fence about this look, but I'm really feeling it on you. I guess I have to do some serious overtime to get these MJ edges at $455?!?! They're worth it though. You just convinced me to embrace the sneak wedge trend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!
Those sneakers are everything! but imma need them to go on sale and then go on sale a few more times, in order for me to get a pair lol.
ReplyDeleteAs usual..cute outfit girlie : )
Lmao... I know that's right. $450 is a bit much for me.

haha totally understandable! there are lots of cute alternatives at most shoe places right now: aldo, steve madden etc
DeleteI wish Steve Madden was my inexpensive alternative to a $450 sneaker. Alas, someday! Perhaps when I'm LMT to the stars haha.
DeleteFabulous!!!! Absolutely love the look!
ReplyDeleteThis look is perfect!! I am such a fan of those shoes ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove everything! I'm not a big fan of the sneaker wedge. I like the look of sneakers and am totally down with wearing them with dresses and like that the look is in. But why do I need to add a wedge? all the look of a sneaker with less of the comfort? that's what i don't really get/like. That said you look fabulous!! and the sneaker-wedges are growing on me.

This doesn't even look like a sneaker. A really nice alternative to the wedge boot. Cute look. Once again, you look gorgeous.

That's a really cute look. I like the sneakers but not really on that dress but that's just a matter of taste. I had bought the Ash ones but I am already reselling them as I don't think they are very me! lol

ReplyDeleteI'm in LOVE with this dress and the wedged sneakers are a nice touch! I've been thinking about adding some to my wardrobe for a while now.
ReplyDeleteOMG! You are KILLING!
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled the sneakers. I find them to be a bit difficult to wear.

ReplyDeletei have been in love with platform sneakers for over a year now..and when it hit the runways i didn't blink..then i saw some people were hating on it and it took me a while to realise oh they are not into it,it's new to them...and now i wait for these to go crazy popular all over...hahahahahah!!

i LOOOOOOVe that dress and that bag, but im not sold on the sneaker wedge yet...
ReplyDeleteI actually favor the sneaker wedge trend - I have a pair from my old boutique job that I love (even if they aren't that comfortable). I love your pair! But honestly ... I'm not feeling them paired with that dress. I'm not sure what is turning me off about it but I could totally see you rocking those sneaker wedges with a pair of tight black pants, sequin top and black leather cropped jacket! Maybe I just see them more edgier than the trend is pushing it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, think Marc Jacobs is a genius -- but who picked out those models? They look like boys....

I'm so delighted that you did this post :-)
ReplyDeleteGabi, I just wanted to say that because of this blog post I immediately went to DSW and bought a pair!! Just tried them on and I love them!! Totally out of my budget but worth it so much! I can't wait to wear them this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe whole outfit is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI would never put together those sneakers with that dress but it really worked!!! Just shows how much styling I need to learn and how much being confident really shines through!
