Whenever I'm running low on fashion inspiration (or just feeling kind of lazy), I default to the same silhouette: blazer, slouchy tee, skinny jeans/leggings. It's the easiest foolproof outfit that looks good on pretty much everyone. Not exactly the most fashion forward, but a good standby nonetheless. That said, Forever21+ has been crazy good lately, and I've been buying up a storm there. We always hear people talking about mixing high and low, but the truth is most people can't afford high end fashion. Most of us are trying to find ways to mix low and more low and still look chic. I love seeing Chanel paired with H&M as much as the next girl, and I die for great designer sale, but I think it's kind of out-of-touch to think someone can't look great wearing inexpensive pieces head-to-toe. My top (available here), blazer (available here), faux leather leggings (similar here), and bag (available here) are from F21, and the amazing shoes are by Jeffrey Campbell via ShopAkira. The earrings are some of my new faves from ASOS (available here)--they have the best jewelry!

I can relate very well with you on this post! I don't mind saying that I don't own any high designer luxury items. One day I wish to own a YSL, Chanel bag and many many pairs of Alexander Wang, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo shoes, but right now I have to live in my means and shop where my wallet will allow me. Lovely Post!!!

ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with keeping it simple and still being able to look chic with less expensive pieces. I really want to try the pants and I've been eyeing that blazer too. I may get them before they sell out. And I LOVE the shoes! Jeffrey Campbell is everything!

You're so friggin' cute. And I LOVE your hair.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about how most people can't afford high end clothes, I really wish I could but I can't + I'm already frugal from not having that much money to spend from the begining
ReplyDeleteSuch a chic outfit. Love!
ReplyDeletetrue and real. I wish but I cant.
ReplyDeleteanyway, I think it's more important your personal style and the attitude rather then how many designer pieces you are wearing. for example, I buy lots of things at the supermarket (!!), mix it with low end pieces and have many 'wow, where did you get that?'.
Attutide and style, remember! :-)

This is the exact Willamette that I default to as well. It's easy to put together, and flatters most figures. And you're so right about the high-low versus low-low trend. I'd love a pair of expensive heels, but they're not in my future. It's about looking good on a budget, and not calling attention to the fact that everything you wear isn't designer.
ReplyDeletelove your outfit, especially your blazer!
ReplyDeleteyou are so right about high/low end fashion. i think too many people are killing their finances for expensive labels when really you can find everything you need on the high street or throught online shopping.
in the UK most girls mix it up, buying from H&M, River Island, Topshop, Zara and Primark aka Primarni!!
www.thatgoodgirlchi.blogspot.com
Absolutely love the shoes!! And your hair is so stylish, really adds to your outfit :)
ReplyDeleteI would love it even more if your bag was bigger :)
ReplyDeleteYou do look really really great! And that slim jeans, tee shirt and blazer silhouette is a favorite look of mine as well, it's always appealing.
ReplyDeleteLove those shoes!!!! Can't wait to accidentally run into you on the Chicago streets!!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely looking to purchase that blazer. I love this style too, I just don't look as chic as you when I try it! xx
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing and those earings are great!
