After a NYC shoot a few days ago//Right before my 10 hour flight!
I have so much exciting news coming up! I can't share just yet, but I get to finally spill at least some of it next week. Speaking of which: did you see the amazing NY Times article about plus size bloggers as role models? They were the first publication that ever quoted me (way back in 2009); now we have a full-page in the Style section! Read the full piece here.
Just to clarify--that's not me in the photo. It's Garner Style next to Nicolette Mason, and they both look fab! (I only say this because a few people have already mistaken her for me. Unfortunately I wasn't able to shoot with NYT because of my scheduling conflicts).

Congratulations, Gabi! Your blog is wonderful, and you totally deserve the plus-sized mention in NYT. ;)

Its great to see the spot light on plus-size bloggers. Ive been a follower and huge fan (literally) for about 3years since then, ive found myself drawn towards the blogosphere and away from the many fashion mags that I grew up idolising. Seeing someone who exudes style and confidence that just happened to have a body that I could actually relate to was an uplifting and proud experience.
ReplyDeleteI know that there will be younger big gals out there who will see this blog (as well as the others mentioned) and will find the acceptance that main stream media lacks when it comes to diversity. BUT above all they will find role models who will teach them how to Love themselves and honour their body, no matter what form it takes.
I hope you know that what you’re doing is really making a difference and I wish you all the success - You are truly a fat-fashionista’s guardian angel!
Congratulations!!!! you are an inspiration and a role model to us all. Every time I read one of your post I always admire your confidence and wish I had it.

Congratulations, Gabi! That's so exciting! Have a wonderful time in Brazil & let's together one of these days when you're back in Chicago!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your sunglasses are fab!
I got that coat and I'm stoked that I did. I haven't been able to wear it yet since I'm looking for a tailor to take in the sleeves. I hate baggy sleeves, and for some reason I'm always having this problem- perhaps because I'm so short, or that I like the body to be so generous that the sleeves end up being too large. I love it though!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you buy your sunnies in the third photo?! I am in LOVE with them! And you look absolutely fabulous, as always.

Ohh, the coat is quite funky indeed!
