An American Girl in Paris

Cliché as it may be, Carrie Bradshaw has always been one of my biggest fashion inspirations. I couldn't leave Paris without having a Carrie fashion moment, and when I spotted a fabulous tutu in London, I knew it'd be perfect. I wore it with an embellished grey top from ASOS Curve and my new favorite Dorothy Perkins jacket (can't get enough of the leather sleeve trend--bought this one too). What better place to shoot photos in Paris than in front of the Louvre? Unfortunately we arrived only to realize my camera was dead, but luckily these days iPhones make pretty good replacements.

This post is dedicated the queen of the fat girl tutu: Jay Miranda, who just welcomed her beautiful baby Julia to the world! Congrats, Jay!

SimplyBe Fast Fashion Collection

I'm on the last leg of my EuroTrip (instagram recap coming soon!) but I thought I'd pop in to let you guys know about SimplyBe's latest Fast Fashion Collection, which is due to hit their site tomorrow! When I was in Manchester at their HQ, I had the pleasure of previewing lots of upcoming things, and this collection was my personal favorite. Inspired by the runway, their Fast Fashion stuff is made with such a quick turn around to ensure that we are getting the trends the same season as everyone else. I've chosen my five favorite looks; the tweed coat with faux leather sleeves and the floral skater dress are my ultimate must-haves! What are your faves?

Photobucket When the video we shot that day is ready, I'll be sure to share that here too! Stay tuned...

Tropic Thunder

Saturday night I went to my friend and fashion designer Jeffrey Michael's after party in Soho and had so much fun! I'm so happy for Jeffrey--he just debuted his first major collection at London Fashion Week and has received tons of positive feedback.

I wore two of my new favorite pieces from SimplyBe. Their cranberry pants--which fit exquisitely--have piping down the middle and a zip at the bottom, and their printed bomber jacket is right on trend. (I have its matching skirt and hope to wear them together soon!) I paired these pieces with my ASOS Curve peplum top and belt, and my new Primark heels.

The UK has been absolutely amazing! Tomorrow I'm off to Valencia, Spain to stay with another wonderful reader--you guys have been so generous and I can't thank you enough!

London Calling

I'm having a blast in London! I just arrived in the UK on Wednesday as Simply Be's London Fashion Week ambassador, and this trip has already been the best of my life. I flew into Manchester where SimplyBe's HQ is located (more on that later) and Thursday we took a train to London. Yesterday was the first day of LFW, and everything was so good. (It's my first time overseas and I can't get over how amazing everyone looks here).

During the day, we shot lots of footage to put together for a SimplyBe vid, and I got to go to a few shows, do street style interviews, and even meet readers of my blog. The team also took me to landmarks like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace which, of course, are even more breathtaking in person. We went to dinner at The Red Fort in Soho, which I highly recommend if you like Indian; I should do a separate post on the absolutely fantastic food I've had since coming here. I wore Simply Be's cobalt blue blazer and pants (available here and here); I'm obsessed with bold suits right now.

(I had to repost this because I deleted the last one by accident while editing! I'm so sad; I read and appreciate all your comments on the previous version!)

Huge huge huge thank you to everyone at Simply Be for making this trip possible! Check back soon for a run down on my tour of their offices and the cute clothes they have coming up.

Truth About Curls

The question I get asked most often after "Where do you shop?" is "What hair products do you use?" I have a pretty solid go-to hair routine, but I'm always down to try new products, especially when they're made for my hair texture. When Paul Mitchell's team contacted me about participating in their Truth About Curls Campaign, I didn't think twice before saying yes! You guys, it's even better than I expected. The line contains four products, and I used the Spring Loaded Detangling Shampoo and the Full Circle Leave-In Treatment. They made my curls really defined but I was still able to get the volume that I love (lots of times curly hair products are too heavy and weigh my hair down). Bonus: it all smells super yummy. The line will be available in October but in the mean time you can get involved by using the hashtag #curlconfession on twitter and on their FB page. Check out the photos to see my hair results and let me know what you think! Next month I'll be posting a vid about how I style it.
Recently I've been wearing boyfriend jeans and basic tee almost daily while I run around town. On a good day I'll wear heels, otherwise I opt for cute flats.

PS- I'm currently in NYC for Fashion Week. I'll be speaking at IFB Con tomorrow--hope to see some of you there! I'm headed to Europe on the 12th, and if you have a couch for me to crash on in London, Rome, Florence, Madrid or anywhere else (I'm open to suggestions) shoot me an email!
