high shine

While browsing the Lord&Taylor website, I fell in love with this DKNYC sheath dress. No surprise that I chose something burgundy with leather details again--I can't get away from this combo! I love the dress because it's knit, which means I can get away with wearing it during the day, but it easily transitions into a night out for drinks. I styled it with my favorite new ASOS coat (size 14 from their main range), and my brand new Isabel Marant wedges!!! I'm not even going to pretend to play it cool, I know these shoes are a ton of money--and I'm still feeling a little guilty over the purchase--but when I saw them on an editor in Milan, I almost died. When I still couldn't get them out of my mind a few weeks later, I decided they'd be my one huge purchase of 2013.

DUDE. I so feel you. I bought the Valentino Rockstuds about 2 months ago, and I still feel guilty about them.

  16. Totally loving those Isabel Marant wedge booties. Amazing! Just looked them up, and yep... that'd be it for the year for me too! I was cringing even at a pair of Louboutin's I found at Holt's (our Canadian version of like Nordstrom or Saks) for $625. I rarely buy clothes at retail for myself any more (too busy wearing clothes from my own store or reviewing stuff from other brands) so I figure a little splurge here or there means it all works out in the wash anyway! Anyway, you look fab and I'm also loving that coat, but I'm too chicken to try it myself (not sure it would fit)!

  17. Loving this outfit and the boots are gorgeous!
I just wanted to say hi and thank you. A few months back I came across your blog through heartifb.com and found myself scrolling through almost every post. It took me half the night! For a long time I have wanted to start my own blog but was too much of a chicken to do something about it, I felt I was too un-cool and I don't exactly fall in to the "super skinny blonde chick" category that seems to dominate the blogging world. But then I found your blog and loved it. I think you look great and have a fantastic sense of style and I realized that not one negative thought had entered my mind whilst going through your outfit posts. I love all sizes and for me, looking good will always be about the individual style and how a person carries it off. But if I like women in all shapes and sizes and don't judge them for not being "perfect-according-to-Vogue", how come I judge myself so harshly? All I could think off whilst looking at your blog was "wow, she looks great and doesn't apologize for not following the "rules" and why can't I do that too?". I also hate to be told to "dress for my shape", I want to set something on fire every time I hear that I HAVE TO show off my waist ;)
But anyway, you and your blog gave me courage to stop being a baby and do something about it. I finally faced my fear and started my own blog and so far it's been fun! You have got a new reader and I will be telling other people about your blog :)

It would have been a lot easier if could have written this in Icelandic, but this will have to do. Hopefully you get what I'm saying! Keep up the good work!
    Linda
